Paul Houghton

Paul Houghton is a chartered town planner and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI). He has degrees in Geography, Environmental Planning and Law.

Paul has over 30 years’ experience in a wide range of planning disciplines in both the public and private sectors, including a stint in housebuilding. Over that period, he has secured planning permissions for numerous rural, tourism, retail, commercial, office, industrial, mixed use, residential and renewables developments.

He has been involved in numerous planning inquiries and informal hearings in England and Scotland, as a witness and also occasionally as an advocate. 

He has particular experience in rural planning and assisting estates and farmers with maximising the potential of their land and buildings.

Mark McGleish

Mark is a chartered town planner, surveyor and land agent and a graduate of Strathclyde and Paisley Universities. He is a member of various bodies including the Agricultural Law Association and the Royal Town Planning Institute. 

Since 2010 he has focused on providing property related advice to private clients including inter alia the negotiation of complex commercial agreements such as residential options/promotion agreements with housebuilders, ransom positions, servitude rights and utility related damages claims. 

Mark still provides advice on general planning and development issues, such as undertaking planning applications and appeals for clients. He sees his underlying role being to maximise his clients’ asset values and has created often long standing relationships with clients based on providing a high standard of service, openness and trust. 

During his early career Mark worked in the public sector in both land use policy formulation and development management positions. 

Mark has also worked within the private sector holding a variety of senior management roles in PLC developers including directorship/main board responsibility for the purchase of development opportunities, land promotion and related regulatory consenting, largely focussing on volume residential developments.
Lee Houghton

Lee Houghton

Lee is a landscape consultant who specialises in landscape design, planting plans, and landscape and visual appraisal.

Lee has a Bachelors degree in Planning and Cartography, and a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from The University of Edinburgh.

Lee has over 25 years’ experience working for a variety of landscape, and multi-disciplinary, practices in England and Scotland.
